We are in a quiet location and just a short walk from the pier, attractions and town centre. This is an ideal base for exploring Constable Country or Historic Colchester. Felixstowe sits at the end of a peninsula between the esturaries of the River Orwell and Deben on the east coast. Served by a good road network, the A12 London – Great Yarmouth road links to the A14 Midlands – East Coast road which ends at Felixstowe port.

  • This museum, housed in the Ravelin block at Landguard Fort, contains 14 display rooms of local social, military and nautical history. Exhibits include the Landguard Room with artefacts, maps, photographs and models depicting military life at the Fort from the reign of King Henry the Eighth up to the 1950s. Rooms are also devoted to the history of RAF Felixstowe, coastal forces, Roman Felixstowe and east coast pleasure steamers.

  • Overlooking the Orwell Estuary, Landguard Fort is a site of extreme historic significance. It was originally built by order of King Henry the Eighth in the 16th century to guard the entrance to Harwich harbour, and is the last fort in England to have successfully opposed an invasion attempt in 1667, led by a significantly larger Dutch force. The current fort is a hybrid structure, largely constructed in the 18th and 19th centuries, with later additional Victorian installations.

Covering approximately 33 hectares (81 acres) this windswept shingle spit on the southern tip of Suffolk's stunning coastline offers a variety of flora and fauna.   • Situated on Felixstowe seafront, the Spa Pavilion Theatre has been staging a wide range of shows since 1909. Many famous personalities have starred at the theatre, including Jimi Hendrix and The Who. It seats 904 people and provides entertainment to suit every taste, from headline acts to local amateur productions, and shows ranging from ballet to pop music. The theatre also plays host to the famous annual Felixstowe Drama Festival.
